Needham, MA, January
1, 2005 –
Scenic Technology Corporation has acquired certain assets of Infoscan,
Inc. During its 12 year history, Infoscan developed supply chain
execution software to support its customers’ inventory storage and
movement needs. Infoscan’s customers were predominantly mid-market
on-line and big-box retailers, manufacturers and distributors. The
transaction was for an undisclosed amount of cash. Scenic intends to continue to enhance and evolve the products in the Microsoft platform and provide enhanced functionality to support the activities inside the four-walls of an enterprise and add additional capabilities through internal development and additional acquisitions to support extra-enterprise activities related to asset tracking. The transaction accelerates Scenic’s entry into the burgeoning area of mobile asset management and provides an excellent platform that is main-stream and easy to develop due to Microsoft’s commitment to the business applications market. These assets fit with the Scenic’s plans to develop a network-based supply chain execution suite based on a modern internet-based architecture that will take a leading role in reshaping how information is used and transmitted by customers.
